Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural fully electric SUV, now available for order in the UK with a starting price of £154,070. The luxury automaker expects to begin customer deliveries in 2027, marking a significant move in Jaguar Land Rover’s transition towards electric vehicles. The Range Rover Electric will be produced at the company’s Solihull plant, underscoring its commitment to advancing its electric vehicle lineup.
This new electric SUV is equipped with dual electric motors that deliver up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. It boasts a claimed driving range of up to 372 miles, based on the WLTP testing cycle. The vehicle is powered by a 118.5kWh battery capable of 800-volt charging, allowing for a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions.
Maintaining Range Rover’s signature luxury and off-road prowess, the electric model incorporates an updated aerodynamic design alongside its electric powertrain. It retains the ability to navigate through water up to 900mm deep, demonstrating its versatility and durability in various driving conditions.
The development and testing of the Range Rover Electric have spanned several years, ensuring that the vehicle meets the high standards expected of the brand. Supporting its production, Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility will manufacture the necessary battery packs and electric drive units, further enhancing the company’s infrastructure for electric vehicle production.
